Job Summary: As the Senior HVAC/Mechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the success of our construction projects by accurately estimating project costs and managing customer relationships.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction HVAC projects.Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements.Conduct site visits and gather necessary information for estimating purposes. Collaborate with department managers, project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.Work closely with the department manager/project manager to translate customer specifications and drawings into bills of material, projected budget costs and cost estimates.Manage the bid strategy and proposal effort both internally and externally, provide competitive analysis, prepare proposal pricing.Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.Review and analyze contract documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules.

Education and Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC construction estimating or related role.A strong background in HVAC, piping, and/or ductwork preferred.Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.Proven track record of successfully estimating projects within budgetary constraints.Experience managing multiple bids through the entire bid process.Highly skilled in reading and understanding drawings, specifications, and bid documents.

Required Skills/Abilities:Knowledge of commercial HVAC construction industry, services, and market.Well-versed in FastPIPE and FastDUCT estimating software. Strong mathematical skills for calculating costs and estimating timeframes.Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.Organizational skills, accuracy, attention to detail.Customer service, negotiation, and planning skills.Time management skills; able to prioritize work and complete projects on time.Ability to present information in a clear and accurate manner.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Physical Requirements:Sit or stand for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions, including reaching, bending, or carrying.Requires manual dexterity with normal hand/finger movement and coordination.Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks.
