Senior Tax Analyst
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for the indirect tax compliance processes within the company. Provides assistance with income and various other tax projects as needed. Prepares corporate indirect tax returns and payments including sales and use tax returns, property tax returns, and other tax filings in a timely manner. Works closely with other corporate support functions such as accounts payable and procurement to determine taxability of various transactions. Files corporate annual reports and other records maintenance and filings. Prepares and posts monthly journal entry for expense accrual of various tax types. Conducts periodic reviews of internal indirect tax processes for accuracy and efficiency. Compiles periodic state apportionment and other detail in support of income tax compliance and provision processes. Manages all indirect tax examinations by state and local tax authorities. Assists with special tax projects as they relate to all tax types including income and international. Prepares responses to various tax notices and correspondence with tax authorities. Suggests and implements compliance process improvements. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Basic knowledge of Oracle or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of tax law, indirect tax law in particular. Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective communication skills. Strong ability to work under various deadlines. Ability to sit. Ability to effectively communicate; speaking, reading, understanding, writing, and hearing clear English; pass audiogram in hearing conservation program as required by location. Ability to work inside an office. Ability to perform highly repetitive motions with fingers, hands, wrists, and shoulders. Ability to work alone, work with others, and interact with the public. Ability to perform under deadline pressure. Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.
Minimum Education, Experience, And Certification Requirements
Education
Master's degree required in tax, accounting or business or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications
Certified Public Accountant or licensing in process.
Required Experience
Minimum of 4 years tax and/or accounting experience. Minimum of 2 years experience with indirect taxes.
