A DAY IN THE LIFE

Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.

As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:

Preparation of samples for analysisPreparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipmentSample preparationDetermining the volume of samplesCleaning of laboratory glasswareMaintaining clean laboratory areasMaintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysisOverhead projects designed to improve efficiency of, or accuracy of analysesAssisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentationComply with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program and other policiesComply with Enthalpy’s Health and Safety PlanOther duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director

Requirements/Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred1-2 years of experience working in a labUnderstanding of physical and chemical principles underlying why procedures are specified the way they were for each method with which they work.

Preferred Skills

Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programsAnalytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratiosStrong attention to detailAbility to write correspondence and reportsExcellent organizational skillsAbility to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, standing for long periods of time, etc.
