Contract Specialist

I. POSITION SUMMARY EPIC Pharmacy Network (EPN) is seeking an experienced Contract Specialist to join their team in Mechanicsville, VA. This is a critical role responsible for a broad range of provider relations and service interactions between member pharmacies and payers. This position will build positive relationships with payers and pharmacies by providing high quality service through provider engagement by phone and email. II. POSITION EXPECTATIONS• Serve as initial point of contact for telephone or email inquiries from pharmacies regarding payer rejections and reimbursement inquiries.• Work with team to track and resolve issues associated with network participation and reimbursement.• Ensure data integrity of all information being sent to health plans, payers and pharmacies.• Manage the process for receiving and tracking of payer rejections, etc.• Run reports needed to successfully manage and track the reimbursement for payers for all lines of business.• Improve contracting process thru team collaboration and system improvements.• Respond to general payer and pharmacy contract inquiries.• Complete special projects as needed.• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.

III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Education, Certifications and /or Licenses:• CPhT Preferred

Experience:• 3+ years in healthcare in payer, pharmacy or health plan contracting, provider relations, retail pharmacy experience or equivalent.

Knowledge/Skills: • Strong presentation, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills• Excellent communication (listening, verbal and written communication skills)• Ability to effectively resolve concerns from members and handle escalated situations• Ability to collaborate inter and intra departmentally and thrive in a team-based environment • Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects independently• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
