Floating Expectations

Helping Hands/ Team Nursing approach Will assist in being Floated to ICU, ED, and other Med, tele Units Patient Sitting

You will not take a patient that does not match your clinical assignment or team

Telemetry Exam on Arrival: Expected to use calipers, interpret various rhythms including but not limited to; sinus rhythms, arrhythmias, blocks, paced rhythms, life threatening arrythmias. The test is closed book, proctored, and has a 60 minute time limit

Required Certs: ACLS, BCLS, Current NH licensure as a Registered Nurse, ADN (BSN preferred), NIH

Preferred Skills: CAPD, Charge (Night shift), Post pacemaker recovery

Patient Diagnoses: 4 East is a 31 bed (17 private 14 semi private) Adult primary Cardiac Unit – serving patients with cardiac diagnoses as well as medical surgical overflow. Common patient types include pre and post cardiac catheterization recovery, pre and post pacemaker/biventricular device insertion, Stroke, Atrial Arrhythmias (IV Cardizem IV Amiodarone) IV Heparin for MI, Stroke, PE/DVT and Vascular patients. Our primary patient population is Afib, NSTEMI and Heart Failure with many co-morbid conditions.

Special Procedures/Unit Details: As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the 4 East Registered Nurse provides comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses with a specialization in cardiac patients, cardiac invasive procedures and telemetry monitoring. The registered nurse successfully completes a competency based orientation program to become proficient in serving the 4 East patient population.
