JOB SUMMARY FOR ACCOUNTANT

We are looking for an experienced, qualified Senior Accountant for a direct hire with our leading food industry client, located in Sterling Heights, MI.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ACCOUNTANT

Assist in managing the month-end close processSupport monthly and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and accrualsReconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balancesAssist in maintaining the general ledgerResponsible for preparing sales tax work papers and submissions monthlyParticipate in financial planning and budgetingCreate ad hoc reports based on the accounting software as requestedAssist in special projects as requestedResponding to information requests and assisting with auditsAbility to handle all confidential or proprietary information with proper consideration of ethical and legal ramifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR ACCOUNTANT

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance5+ years of senior-level accounting experienceFamiliarity with accounting and finance principles and proceduresExcellent organizational and analytical skills and the ability to multi-taskStrong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Sage 300 and Adaptive is a plusExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalCan safeguard company information by observing company security regulationsBe a catalyst for continuous improvement by making recommendations based on empirical data and business experience
