Position Overview: We are seeking a meticulous Hardware Engineer to join our certification team. The primary responsibility of this role is to validate, debug, and root cause EMVCo L1 certification tests and related issues. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong problem-solving skills, and have a solid understanding of hardware testing methodologies.
Job Responsibilities:Gather test requirements for hardware and software functions to ensure compliance with EMVCo L1 standards.Validate test setup using reference devices and debug failures to optimize test conditions.Execute EMVCo L1 certification tests, maintain clear and concise test reports, and provide regular updates on test execution progress.Collaborate closely with firmware and hardware teams to debug test failures on the device under test and document corrective actions.Coordinate with external partners and third-party labs to ensure successful completion of formal certification processes.Provide equipment training and ongoing support to RF, System, and Firmware teams.
Skills and Qualifications:Strong creativity, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts.Analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Basic mentoring skills to provide support and constructive feedback to peers.Proficiency in EMVCo L1 certification requirements and administrative processes.Understanding of analog and digital test cases, and familiarity with NFC/EMVCo test equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.Previous experience in hardware validation, testing, and certification within the payments industry.Familiarity with payment technologies and standards (EMV, NFC, etc.).Experience working with EMVCo or similar certification processes.
