Position SummaryThe General Manager of the eShipping Distribution Services team maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. The General Manager must understand and aid in implementing processes that will drive profitability and enhance margins, including the management of labor, space, and equipment. This individual is also responsible for the management and supervision of associates and is involved with personnel matters such as the recruitment, training, and performance management of staff. The General Manager will oversee and will at times be personally involved in various picking, packing, and distribution activities.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuties include but are not limited to the following:Motivate, organize, and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure that set productivity targets are metEnsure that quality, delivery, and budget objectives are metOperate mechanical and IT systemsLiaise with customers and other departmentsTrain, supervise, and appraise staff, including arrangement of forklift certificationMaintain statistical and financial recordsEnsure FIFO compliance and inventory controlConfirm that quality objectives and delivery deadlines are metAdminister stock controlEnsure compliance with health and safety legislationCoordinate with sales team to create pricing proposalsAct as warehouse account managerOther duties as assigned
