Scientist - II (Associate)South San Francisco, CA12 Months contractPay Rate: $34.76/hr on w2
The Anatomic Pathology Group within client Research Laboratories in South San Francisco is seeking a contractor with attention to detail who can support front-to-back sample management and shipment organization.
Primary Responsibilities:• Inventory and registration of tissue samples.• Label tissue samples according to internal identification and tissue type.• Catalog stained slides and FFPE tissue blocks for archival purposes.• Communicate closely with external vendors to organize periodic shipments.• May be asked to manage various tasks in support of the Anatomic Pathology laboratory human tissue panels.
Quals--Required Education: Associate's degree OR Bachelor's degree with equivalent direct work experience of minimum two (2) years of in laboratory setting within hospital/pharma/biotech or CRO.• Proficiency in working with tabular data (i.e. Microsoft Excel)• Strong organizational and time management skills• Strong written communication skills• Proven track record of analytical skills, problem solving and attention to detail.• High personal integrity and credibility
Preferred Experience and Skills:• Proficiency in Labware Biorepository database, or similar tissue banking software• Prior experience in sample management• Prior experience in logistics
Note: 100% onsite lab based role at SSF,CA site.
