Our goal is to assist clients with compliance and risk reduction by applying the best available science and proven management systems. We develop validation and scientific support for food products and processes for improving food safety and quality. We help with prevention of product contamination and with getting plants back up and running after a contamination event.
Role DescriptionThis is a full-time role for a Food Microbiologist at Etna Consulting Group, based in Jacksonville, FL. As a Food Microbiologist, you will review scientific literature and provide scientific support for food products and processes for clients. You will routinely review product and process information and develop validation documentation for clients. You will also perform laboratory challenge studies and shelf life studies. You will occasionally travel to food and beverage manufacturing plants to assess sanitation effectiveness including taking photos and collecting environmental sponge samples or other samples.
QualificationsLaboratory Skills, Quality Control, and proficiency in challenge testing of foods and beveragesExtensive knowledge and experience in Food MicrobiologyStrong understanding of Quality Assurance in the food industryExcellent attention to detail and ability to follow protocolsExcellent writing ability and attention to detail in document preparationGood analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and teamwork abilitiesMaster's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field (Doctoral degree preferred)
