Job Description

Laboratory Responsibilities

Execute assigned/trained assays, constituting 80-90% of working hours.Fulfill all duties pertinent to the Quality Control Chemist role as necessary.Manage inventory of laboratory supplies, media, and reagents.Maintain and update relevant databases, and generate monthly reports.Conduct laboratory investigation reports as required.Utilize Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample and test result tracking.

Leadership Responsibilities

Provide support and supervision to a team of analysts.Participate in new hire interviews.Assist in the onboarding process of new employees.Contribute to the training of team members.Conduct peer review of data.Coordinate equipment maintenance and calibration.Be available for overtime and weekend shifts as needed.Adapt quickly to changing priorities to accommodate immediate testing requirements and assist team members in refocusing as necessary.

Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate Would Possess

Laboratory experience, with a preference for chemistry/biochemistry backgrounds.Exposure to working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environment.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a keen attention to detail.Proficiency in ELISA and experience with capillary electrophoresis.Familiarity with LIMS is advantageous.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent directly relevant experience.Proficiency in Gel Electrophoresis.Ability to acquire new techniques, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain accurate records, follow instructions, and adhere to company policies.Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship or restriction.

Additional Information

The position is full-time, Monday-Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, NY and the surrounding areas are encouraged to apply.
