RF Design Engineer II San Diego, CA 120-135kFull-time. Direct Hire. Relo available. Evolve1Talent is looking for a skilled, creative RF Design Engineer to work with our client team in San Diego to design cutting-edge wireless technology, including new product development, prototyping, etc. The right person will use their experience with antenna design, filter design, RF Test equipment, and radio-system accessories for LEO and military applications. Someone who enjoys designing and building products never built before!The right engineer will use simulation and design tools, both commercial and in-house, to design, prototype, build, and test next-generation RF antenna technologies. Requirements4 + years minimum experience in RF design or equivalent, focusing on antenna design and passive analog RF.Comfortable with a hands-on approachDue to the nature of the work performed, U.S. Citizenship is required.Proven RF Antenna Design experience.Proven proficiency with EM-simulation tools, schematic capture software, microwave circuit simulation, CAD modeling, Genesys/PathWave Synthesis, and SolidWorks.Experience with antenna measurement techniques, covering Smith Chart, S-parameters, near-field, and far-field pattern measurement. Strong knowledge of antenna design principles across a broad spectrum, particularly focusing on HF/VHF/UHF and sub-10GHz design. Experience designing antennas for handheld radios, base stations, and manned or unmanned ground/air/sea/underwater/space vehicles is a plus.Experience with designing/tuning some or all of the following: half wave dipole, full wave dipole, collinear antenna, dual-polarized antennas, vertical polarized omnis, horizonal polarized omnis, dual/multi-band antenna, patches, sectors/arrays, concealments, UAV antennas, hemispherical antennas, directional antennas, horn antennas, pcb antennas, microstrip antennas, slot antennas, circularly polarized antennas, quadrifilar, bifilar, GPS or other GNSS antennas.Familiarity with RF test equipment such as VNA, spectrum analyzer, and signal generator.Proven communication and enjoys being in front of the customer,when needed.
