Qualifications
The Energy Technician is responsible for working with Gas and Electric Service; e.g.: turn-on and shut-off services, meter work, gas and electrical emergencies. Energy Technicians are considered essential personnel and are required to respond to emergencies and work under all types of weather conditions.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: Gas odor response, Mechanical Pipe fitting on Customer meter sets, Repair Single secondary outages on the PECO Electric distribution system, trouble shoot and repair customer Electrical issues including voltage irregularities; and gas and electric emergencies
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Required
Able to successfully complete required EEI testing. Valid driver's license and ability to receive and maintain CDL medical certificateHigh School Diploma or equivalent is requiredMust be able to lift 85 pounds. Ability to respond to emergency call out as essential personnel and to work shiftsAbility to work in stressful environments involving gas or electric emergencies. Ability to interact with customers on a one on one basis and portray PECO as the energy supplier of choiceWilling to report to any location throughout the PECO territory (Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, and Philadelphia). Must be within the manufacturer’s safe weight guidelines for equipmentExcellent written and oral communicationsIndependent ability to mechanically troubleshoot issuesComfortable working at heightsAbility to work 24x7 shifts during storms or other energy delivery emergencies
Preferred
Previous electric and/or gas work
Mechanical experience with hand toolsHeating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) experienceMechanical Iron pipe fitting
