Role Description We are seeking a dedicated Instructional Assistant to support our Preschool Autism Classroom at Fairfax County Public Schools. This is a full-time on-site role located in Falls Church, VA. As an Instructional Assistant, you will work closely with the teaching team to provide exceptional educational support to preschool students with autism. Your responsibilities will include assisting in implementing instructional activities, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting student engagement, and promoting students’ social and emotional development.
Qualifications Prior experience working with children with disabilities, particularly autismStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to follow instructions and work collaboratively with the teaching teamPatience, empathy, and a strong desire to make a difference in students' livesAbility to implement behavior management strategies and provide individualized supportKnowledge of assistive technology and specialized instructional techniquesFlexibility and adaptability in a dynamic classroom environmentAbility to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
