Cashier

Description The role of Cashier is to engage with customers and offer outstanding customer experience to Family Tree shoppers. They ensure that customers are promptly and happily tended to in the checkout area, that transactions are thorough, accurate, and efficient. Because Cashiers are one of the last faces customers see when they visit our stores, a friendly smile and positive attitude are a must. Duties Assist customers and provide a high-level of customer service. Answer customer questions. Know where to find information or which team members to ask for answers when they are not known. Complete customer transactions accurately and efficiently. This includes scanning items into the point of sale, completely credit card, check and cash payments, and properly wrapping/boxing material. Handle merchandise with care and respect. Retain information about merchandise, plant material, and pot sizes as it pertains to pricing, promotions, and sales. Report price discrepancies to the Lead Cashier, Retail Supervisor, Assistant Retail Manager or Retail Managers as needed. Answer store phone calls as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, fully stocked register area. Maintain cleanliness as a point of attention throughout the store. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements Able to work with flexible schedule. Comfortable working with computers and technology-based devices; including Microsoft Office, tablets, registers/point of sale devices, and basic office equipment. Willing to work weekends and holidays. Able to work in all weather types and potentially the extremes of wet, cold, hot, dry or combinations thereof. Able to stand, walk, and be on their feet for multiple hours at a time with minimal breaks. Able to comfortably lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day. Comfortable working in a high-paced work environment involving multiple people. Comfortable working in a team setting. Willing to be coached in order to excel in one's position. Willing to move around and to fill in any other areas where team member support is needed, and as directed by store leadership.
