📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Position Overview: Fenceworks, LLC is looking for a Senior Accountant with a minimum of 3 years’ experience who can manage a 15-business day month end closing process. This individual will record daily and monthly transactional activity while adhering to GAAP and Fenceworks’s accounting policies that includes record preparation, general ledger activities, month-end closing activities, reconciliation of accounts as directed, financial related reports, schedules, audits, and assignment of special projects by the Corp Controller. This individual will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.
Principal Accountabilities:Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations for all types of accounts, including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets and intangibles, to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger reliabilityPrepare monthly journal entriesAssist with monthly bank reconciliationsAssist with the annual external auditWork with AR, AP, HR and other departments as needed to resolve issuesDevelops and updates desk procedures, internal controls, & accounting policies, as neededResponsible for Sales Tax ReportingAssist with Worker’s Compensation reporting requirementsAssist with schedules for Income Tax calculation with our consultantsManage government reporting requirements from various agenciesAssumes additional responsibilities as assigned and assists with projects, as needed
Key Skills & Requirements:Proficiency in MS Office, Word, and PowerPointAdvanced excel skills, including Vlookups and Pivot tables3-5 years of general ledger accounting experience is preferredUS GAAP knowledge is requiredImpeccable organizational skills and attention to detailStrong Customer Service SkillsAbility to adapt to changing organizational and operational needsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to multitask, detail oriented, professional attitude, reliableERP system knowledge is required, preferably NetSuiteAttendance- models good attendance by adhering to their regular work schedule and at times working additional or varied hours to accommodate workflow
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting is requiredStrong work ethic
