Overview
First Citizens Technology, Media and Telecommunications provides cash flow and asset based senior debt for communications and technology companies in the middle market throughout the United States.
This position is responsible for the management of Technology, Media, & Telecom (TMT) investment products. Creates and implements the Bank's TMT investment strategy and approach within stated investment guidelines. Responsible for the financial risk and return of the portfolio through ongoing monitoring, reporting, risk management, and structuring of investments. Services large, complex portfolios for high new worth clients. Provides investment recommendations, presentations, and expertise to achieve client investment and service objectives.
Responsibilities
Work with the Telecom, Media & Technology team monitoring a portfolio of TMT accounts. Industry subsectors include (a) Towers, (b) Communications, (c) Technology, (d) gaming , (e) Entertainment/Media and (f) Data Centers. Engage in all aspects of a portfolio management, including quarterly reporting, annual company reviews, amendment memo preparation and presentation, legal documentation, and deal closing. Complete in-depth analysis of borrowersβ business models, identify key potential investment risks and analyze financial trends as part of the quarterly/annual review processParticipate in calls and meetings with existing borrowers, private equity sponsors and other market participantsMentor junior staffPerform other duties as assignedEnsure compliance with all FCB policies and procedures and build a firm understanding of FCB systems and resources
The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $150,000 to $175,000 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Credit analysis, underwriting or Risk Management OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Credit analysis, underwriting or Risk Management
Preferred
Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Economics
6 years of related leveraged finance experience; TMT experience a plusWorking knowledge of syndicated and leveraged finance marketsExperience working on financial sponsor transactionsThe completion of a formal credit training program is desired but not requiredDemonstrated analytical and quantitative skillsExcellent oral and written communications skillsTime management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks with changing prioritiesDetailed knowledge of Microsoft Office ApplicationsStrong attention to detailAbility to function independently and as part of a small teamSkill(s): Completion of a formal credit training program preferred
