📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Cost Accountant - Up to $95k Leading design and development organization looking to hire a Cost Accountant. This person will be the right hand man/woman of the Controller and handle the finance/control functions related to their inventory process and asset valuations. The ideal candidate has their Bachelors degree and 5+ years of cost accounting experience.
Description:Generate monthly reports detailing inventory performance, forecasts, and annual operating plans. Conduct in-depth analysis of inventory balances and associated details on a regular basis.Evaluate, recommend, and implement cost management strategies. Ensure the accuracy of physical inventory and investigate any discrepancies between book and physical counts. Conduct audits of bills of materials to verify product costs and ensure proper accounting.Promptly and accurately input changes to bills of materials and price codes. Ensure bills of materials and costing accurately reflect production processes. Maintain a periodic inventory of finished goods and reconcile it with production, shipping, and returns daily. Provide support for cost and pricing data as well as contract costing. Document and comprehend ERP/MRP systems, hardware, and reporting procedures. Assist in the completion of special projects and serve as backup for month-end closing procedures.
