📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
firstPRO is now accepting resumes for a Data Governance Engineer role in Boston, MA. This is a direct hire role with a hybrid workstyle (onsite 3 days per week). RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDEDevelopment, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide data governance technologies, with a focus on improving data quality, data lineage and data discoverability.Implement data-related standards, policies, procedures, and architectures in alignment with Central Data Governance team’s strategic objectives.Implement technology tools and frameworks for tracking data quality, using key data quality metrics defined by Central Data Governance team in conjunction with data domain owners.Design and implement data quality (DQ) rules to be integrated into DQ framework.Creation of checks in source systems and data pipelines to ensure data quality and clean data flow.Implement technology solutions to define and track key performance indicators for data quality, data governance processes, and tools to report on them in an automated manner.Provide necessary tooling and systems support to the data team as they perform data governance activitiesWork with various data team and various application teams as needed to evaluate, redesign, and reimplement data and process flows as needed.QUALIFICATIONSMust-Have:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a data engineer or in a similar role (SQL, Python, etc.)Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.)Solid understanding of data governance principles and practices.Knowledge of a Data Catalog, Data Lineage, and Data Quality frameworksPrior experience with Data governance tools such as Atlan, Collibra, Alation, Manta, etc. is highly desired.Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Takes ownership and pride in end-to-end delivery of projects and initiatives.Comfort with a data-intensive and high transaction volume environmentDeadline-driven mindsetNice-to-have:Prior experience in Finance and Asset management domain is a plus.Prior experience with Snowflake and DBT is a plus
