We are currently seeking experienced Die Set/Press Operators to support our production stamping plant in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The successful candidates will be responsible for loading, setting-up, and operating stamping presses to run production and produce quality output while working within a structured formal team.
RESPONSIBLITIES
Operate hi-lo and /or crane to stage diesInstall dies and operate stamping presses, hand tools, metrology equipment, cranes, and plasma cuttersFeed coils into the die to run productionCheck parts and document results to verify and record qualityPerform troubleshooting activities for pressesPerform basic housekeeping to keep area clean and safe to include scrap containersVarious other duties as required by the department
REQUIREMENTS
3 - 5 years of hands-on experience with transfer progressive metal stamping dies and presses ranging from 600 – 2,000 tons is requiredExperience installing dies, operating stamping presses, hand tools, overhead crane, and gagesValid hi-lo and crane permit requiredKnowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 quality standardsAbility to follow established proceduresStrong attention to detail and multi-tasking abilityProblem solving and troubleshooting ability utilizing creativity and past practiceAbility to communicate and effectively interact with all levels of employeesComputer and math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks is requiredUsuage of safety glasses, hearing protection, additional safety equipment (as needed), ability to move throughout the plant, and lift 40 pounds is required
