The purpose of this position is to manage and execute field implementation activities associated with assigned projects, in accordance with the requirements of the contract and the Client / Fluor’s operating policies and practices• Implements the portions of the site safety program associated with field activities for all craft and sub-contractor personnel, monitors performance through project metrics, and initiates corrective actions for adverse trends • Plays an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety an integral part of all work performed • Remains knowledgeable of safety policies and procedures and performs assigned duties in a safe manner • While supervising others, has responsibility for their safety and ensures that they comply with established safety policies, procedures and practice safe work habits• Maintains strict adherence to the project quality plan and associated company policies and manuals, and the specific requirements defined in the contract • Executes the project work scope in accordance with the quality standards specified in the project procedures • Monitors field implementation activities to ensure personnel adhere to project safety and quality standards • Ensures that subordinates are trained and knowledgeable of project specifications and work procedures and that Fluor work products are in conformance with specified safety and quality requirements • Develops both an understanding and a working knowledge of all aspects of the contract • Ensures Fluor field implementation activities are in compliance with Key Result Area (KRA’s) expectations • Implements assigned work in accordance with the project management, planning, and cost control system requirements of the contract and Fluor’s policies • Performs assigned work in conformance with plans, specifications, cost and schedule requirements• Manages and controls project cost and schedule expectations • Controls change/scope creep, ensuring that all scope changes are properly documented, and that change orders are approved by the Client prior to the performance of the work • In coordination with the Project Controls Manager oversees project implementation planning and coordination for all construction-related work activities assigned to Fluor • Maintains effective schedule and cost control within assigned field functions of the project and ensures adherence to these practices• Plans assigned work activities to ensure that design drawings, tools, equipment, materials, and personnel are available when needed• Implements the project performance improvement plan which includes the utilization of project, corporate and industry lessons learned and incorporates Fluor’s formal value creation tools into the execution of the work• Manages and coordinates the activities of contractors in conjunction with the Fluor contract administration group• Monitors the activities of assigned contractors and ensures compliance with project safety, quality, and cost requirements• Coordinates the work activities of assigned crafts or functions within the disciplines involved in the project• Coordinates work activities and manpower requirements to meet established completion dates• Coordinates craft personnel, material, and equipment needed to meet schedules while adhering to budget constraints• Reviews work assignments with craft supervisors and gives instruction relative to the methods and procedures to be used as well as desired results• Monitors construction activities to ensure work efficiency and that quality and workmanship meet project standards and specifications• Other duties as assignedBasic Job Requirements :• Craft certification, training, and experience appropriate for assignment scope; directly related experience equal to thirteen (13) years; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective mannerOther Job Requirements :• Typically direct subordinate Craft Superintendents, and other craft supervision positions such as General Foremen and Foremen; depending on job size and complexity; this position is the first to begin directing construction activities composed of crews involving multiple crafts• Typically serve as lead person to coordinate all activities within their assigned scope in an active construction work area• Coordinate and implement indirect activities, internal and external, required to support a productive construction execution; including functional staff support, support craft activities, and any other resource necessary to assure a safe and quality execution• Generally responsible to assure all work undertaken is within approved scope boundaries and is in full compliance with all pertinent requirements• May represent the company as the in situ senior staff position directly overseeing and responsible for the work performed by construction craftsmenPreferred Qualifications :• Proven ability promoting outstanding customer service and client relations• Excellent skills in interpersonal relations, conflict resolution• Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets and electronic presentation programs• Functional proficiency in project controls, human relations, industrial relations, and contract management as it applicable to assigned area of responsibility• Demonstrated strong decision making, critical thinking and problem solving skills
