Business/Function Overview

FMC has an exciting opening for a HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic to join our company. The front-line HVAC/Refrigeration mechanic is responsible for resolving customer complaints and concerns regarding HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic to join our company. Your primary responsibility is to maintain proper operation of the building heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment in a cost-effective manner and utilize energy management principles.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include but are limited to the following

Responsible for the coordination of preventive and predictive maintenance on the building HVAC/R equipment. Inspection of safety equipment to ensure proper operation. Proactive use of BAS (Building Automation Systems) to check for alarms, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot HVAC equipment. Must have “hands-on” knowledge for pneumatic and electronic controls calibration, testing, adjusting, balancing, and building energy management systems for building HVAC operations Works closely with Engineering and Capital project design in maintaining and upgrading the building facilities files, which includes drawings, cut sheets, and manuals. Must be competent in the site use of power and hand tools used in the craft. Must possess basic electrical theory and the use of Volt / Ohm Meters. Observe all governmental, FMC, NEC, and OSHA regulations particularly environmental roles. Provide input/assists Maintenance team with i.e., steam, domestic water, compressed air, nitrogen, chilled, and heating hot water systems. Participate in site audits on a routine basis. Maintains availability for off-hours response as business needs require. This position may require alternate shift coverage. This position may require alternate shift coverage deemed necessary by management to fulfill Stine business needs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent Willing and able to work both indoors and outdoors. All weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 50lbs and repetitive motion. Must be able to frequently stand, climb, lift, pull and/or push, carry, grasp, reach, stoop and crouch. Demonstrate ability to interact and communicate with diverse groups, such as line management, engineer, planner / scheduler, maintenance, and operations technicians. Knowledge of Predictive/Preventive Maintenance (PM’s) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). Verify accuracy, write, and/or update as necessary SOP’s, PMs, and job plans. Knowledge to use hand tools, portable power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, mechanical, electrical drawings, engineering standards and applicable regulatory codes. Current, valid driver’s license Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work as a self-managed individual, solve problems and make decisions. Problem solving capabilities and ability to make independent decisions. Strong mathematics foundation, problem solving and critical and analytical thinking, mechanical skills. Must have 5 years of experience in the following: Industrial or Commercial HVAC Steam heating systems Chilled waters systems; cooling towers BAS (Building Automation Systems) Andover/Continuum/Eco structure experience recommended Hands on experience and proven knowledge of pneumatic and electronic controls calibration, testing, adjusting, and balance; building HVAC operations, and building energy management systems Possess Journeyman HVAC certification or Degree in Field

Other Requirements

Drives and ensures 100% compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), quality standards, and performance. Ensures 100% compliance with training requirements (individually and team, if applicable). Participates in Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR), Job Hazard Assessments (JHA), and permitting as assigned to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and drive site performance. Participates in and supports Root Cause Analysis (RCA) at the site in response to issues found. Assists with quality improvement projects to continually improve process. Operates and maintains their area with a high level of ownership, accountability, and ethics. Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.)

Additional Experience Preferred

Knowledge of powerhouse and boiler operations for steam production. Knowledge of high-voltage electrical distribution systems, 35,000-volt systems and transformers.
