Research And Development Manager

This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the R&D Product Development, Innovation, Formulation, and Technical Services activities. This role involves the formulation and commercialization of new products, quality improvement of existing product, process improvements, and innovation, product costing and sustainability initiatives, and analyses of raw materials and finished goods while maintaining compliance to regulatory and 3rd party certified bodies regulations and requirements.Responsibilities:The R&D Manager is responsible for but not limited to the following:the activities of product development processes for efficient and on-time achievement of product launches, that include but not limited to conceptualization, formulation and prototype evaluation, optimization and standardization, material evaluation, product cost calculation, bench studies, commercial transfers to production and product launches.and develop products that meet the requirements of the company, customers and regulatory bodies and 3rd party certifiers. Schedule the R&D laboratory daily priorities to meet the timelines.research on raw material properties and new trends in ingredient science as relevant to the needs of the assigned product/project.the raw material properties when developing product formulas, manufacturing processes and evaluation of alternative ingredients to meet the finished goods labeling claims.in-depth knowledge of raw material quality and safety to product design and development (cGMP and HACCP). Ensure the product standards and process parameters are relative to food safety for chemistry and microbiology.and review the stability/shelf life studies for finished products.the sensory and organoleptic evaluation of R&D lab bench studies and if required daily batch evaluation.

meetings with R&D staff regularly to discuss new concepts and ideas for new products.with Sales, Production, QA, QC and Operations to ensure product development and technical transfers are completed within the project timelines.in regulatory inspections and 3rd party audits as required.to the Material Review Board and Quality Management meetings.collaborative environment and teamwork in meeting organizational goals.and schedule R&D department personnel and manage, train, develop, and motivate them to achieve the overall quality goals and objectives.with Human Resources functions on interviewing potential employees, drafting and conducting performance reviews, addressing employee relation matters, and overall company communication.Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
