📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
A leading tech-enabled, alternative finance company serving small businesses seeks a Senior Accountant to support the Accounting team in daily operations and special projects as required.
A Day in the Life of a Senior AccountantAccounting for complex accounts (fixed assets, prepaid expenses, leases)Assist in monthly end closing process- accrual base adjustments for revenue and expenses, inter-company entries, facility reconciliation, variance analysis, bank reconciliation, etc.)Prepare, post, and analyze a high volume of daily journal entries/business transactions across multiple entitiesPrepare daily cash reconciliations and operational summaries for management reviewWork closely with customer service, collections & servicing, and external partners to accurately process transactionsReconciling activities for multi-entity consolidationAssist in preparation of consolidated financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement)Assistance in annual audit processDeveloping and recommending modifications to improve accounting methods/controlsAssisting on accounting, auditing and taxation issuesCompile cost information to be used in operating budget / forecastingReview, analyze and process AP related transaction and documentationCollaborate on interdepartmental projects/ initiativesReview, post and reconcile credit card activities (including proper spend documentation on big ticket purchases)Ad hoc reporting and requests as needed
What You HaveBachelor’s degree in accounting5+ years experience in an accounting functionLending business experience plusFinancial audit experience plusExcellent verbal and written communication skills requiredAbility to adapt in fast paced heavy data entry environmentProblem solverProactiveFocus on efficiency and automationStrong time management skillsFlexible hours (specifically around month end and different regulatory reporting deadlines)
