Digital Forensics Analyst

This position would involve performing forensic data collections and digital forensic triage investigations for internal investigations and civil lawsuits. The candidate must have a solid troubleshooting skillset on both hardware and software levels. The candidate will communicate and collaborate with the entire digital forensics team. This position will require basic project management and documentation skills to help deliver viable solutions.

Essential Functions:Responsible for preserving client data on a wide range of devices and sources (computers, laptops, servers, cell phones, tablets, Office 365, etc.) utilizing forensically sound acquisition procedures.Maintain accurate and complete chain of custody and other documentation.Perform forensic analysis of preserved data for a variety of investigations (data theft, employment matters, spoliation, etc.).Provide documentation and explanation of analysis and findings for client.Draft forensic analysis reports for client projects.Directly communicate with clients in a consulting and advisory context.Travel to a client site when required, sometimes on short notice.Strictly adhere to budgets and keep track of billable hours to ensure accuracy.Testify as an expert, as requested, in civil or regulatory matters.Correspond with clients and facilitate the return/destruction of evidence.Perform various forms of eDiscovery to identify targeted files including staging client data and removing system files as well as indexing, culling, filtering and searching data (keywords/date filters).Assist with other projects and/or tasks assigned as the business requires.Maintain a high degree of understanding of the latest digital forensic tools and techniques.Research and recommend technology and infrastructure to enhance the delivery of services.Provide advice and assistance to the owner on equipment acquisition and management.Develop and maintain up-to-date process documentation.Responsible for safekeeping, managing, and returning physical evidence belonging to the client, the opposing side, and/or third parties.

Work and Skill Requirements:IT ExpertiseOne year or more as a digital forensics specialist.Attention to detail along with accuracy and specificity in documentation and reporting.Strong communication skills both written and verbal.Previous computer forensics experience required.Previous experience testifying preferred.Experience a plus with industry standard tools, including Magnet Axiom, X-Ways, FTK, Cellebrite, EnCase, etc.One or more of the following certifications preferred: CCE, CCCE, PI, ACE, GCFA or other relevant industry certs.Demonstrated skill in preserving and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusions.Must demonstrate the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of internal affairs and client work.
