Position: Safety Compliance Coordinator – Fleet Maintenance

Job Description

Under the direction of the Safety Department Manager, the Safety Compliance Coordinator – Fleet Maintenance is responsible for all fleet vehicle maintenance and required remediation in accordance with FMCSA regulations and company policy. Previous experience in transportation safety coordination is recommended.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain all maintenance records in compliance with FMCSA requirements and all roadside inspections in compliance with regulations and company policyRetain and record all required maintenance receipts and records in compliance with FMCSA requirements and company policy pertaining to DVIRs (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports)Input and upload all new IC drivers into company training site, as well as removing all terminated IC drivers from company training siteAssign, communicate and follow up with qualified drivers on any remediation requirements in conjunction with roadside inspectionsPrepare driver compliance review reports for review by the Safety Review CommitteeEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, drivers, and managersCommunicate DOT Regulations and DOT interpretations in compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety RegulationsOther duties as assigned

Requirements

Graduation from high school or GED equivalentComputer skills: Excel, Word, Internet, AS400 and web-based systemsRequires strong interpersonal & communication skills, compliance, implementation, and auditing tasks.Must be familiar with standard DOT or Agency Compliance concepts, practices, and procedures.Work in a “Confidential Capacity”Must have ability to handle heavy workloadExcellent writing & proof reading skills as well as superior verbal & organizational skills.Goal oriented, self-managing with time & project consideration.
