Human Resources Manager Full Time Direct HireSalary Target is ~75-100k+San Diego, CA 92121 (Miramar) – fully onsite
Required:Strong experience in an HR Leadership, HR Business Partner, and/or HR Generalist RolesMix of HR Skills and Experience: employee relations, employment law and compliance, employee life cycle management, recruitment, employee benefits, payrolling, workers comp, etc. Experience Managing a teamValid CA Driver’s license and able to travel ~10% of the time; travel is primarily to the North County warehouse and to training/seminars.
Desired:Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plusSPHR, PHR, SHRM CP, or other HR certificationsSpeaks Spanish

Profile / Summary / Responsibilities:The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional with generalist experience. They show moderate to high level of competency in employee benefits, employee relations, employment law and compliance, employee life cycle management, recruitment, workers comp and insurance, and they are true champion for culture. The ideal candidate demonstrates our value of moxie in that they can run an efficient and forward-thinking department with minimal oversight and limited resources.
This position works closely with the VP of Administration to maintain the organization's human resources policies, programs, and practices. This position, in tandem with the VP is responsible for all Human Resources functions including employee compensation, benefits, recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance. Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions. Supports organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; and educating candidates on the job requirements, working conditions, opportunities for promotion, and company benefits.Supports management by providing human resource advice, counsel, and decisions regarding employee and labor policies such as ADA, FMLA, and OSHA. Responsible for employee relations disputes, internal investigations, and performance improvement plans. Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs. Research competitive salary and benefit information. Identifies benchmark jobs and conducts salary surveys. Designs, implements, and adjusts pay ranges. Educates managers on pay guidelines.Conducts job evaluations; prepares pay budgets; monitors and schedules individual pay actions; recommends, plans, and implements pay structure revisions. Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors. Maintains a continuous improvement of HR culture by conducting and analyzing exit interviews; conducting internal employee culture and satisfaction surveys; and recommending changes. Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings. Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures. Maintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records; and compiling statistical reports summarizing personnel-related data.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies. Oversees time records and expense reports to prepare payroll processing. Works with accounting to complete bi-weekly payroll. Provides the management team with current, accurate metrics to facilitate decision-making. Maintains DOT Driver Qualification files; ensuring all CDL drivers are adhering to CHP requirements; pull notice, random drug testing, driver qualification forms/documents, training, etc. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Manages HR and Office Administration team: Payroll and Benefits Specialist, Office Administrator, and Receptionist.Other duties as assigned.
