π Role Overview & Responsibilities
Our client in Houston, Texas has an immediate need for 2 Senior Accountants on a long term contract basis, and may consider contract to hire.

Senior Accountant Role:The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely standalone and consolidated financial statements in conformity with US GAAP and IFRS and supporting the completion of external audits and periodic reviews.Support external audits and periodic reviews.Deliver financial reports and variance analysis to management.Execute monthly consolidation/elimination entries for consolidated financial statements.Ensure financial statements reflect the financial position and operating results of Group Companies.Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and disclosure forms.Conduct account reviews/reconciliations and monthly journal entries.Coordinate system reviews, specifications, and software process solutions.Manage interface and mapping database between accounting ERP records and reporting system Address accounting and business issues, implementing new accounting pronouncements.Monitor internal controls and adherence to delegation of authority guidelines.Review processes for best practices and automation initiatives.Support annual external audits of financial statements under IFRS and US GAAP.Analyze and prepare journal entries for derivative transactions.Assist with other tasks as directed by Management.
Senior Accountant Background Profile:Minimum 5 years of experience, including busy season or similar corporate accounting experience.Proficient in consolidations, lease accounting, and financial statement preparation (US GAAP and/or IFRS).Experience with Finance & Accounting ERP system implementation/enhancement preferred.IFRS Accounting and Derivative Accounting, including Hedge Accounting, is preferredFamiliarity with IBM Cognos Controller preferred.Experience with Dynamics GP preferredIndustry experience in Oil & Gas E&P, Petrochemical Production, Manufacturing, or EPC is preferred.Big 4 Audit/Assurance Experience is a plus.Self-starter with strong interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving abilities.Public accounting experience and CPA or CMA certification is desirable.
