Data Architect with MS Fabric Houston, Tx -!!- Onsite Position -!!- 12+ Months to contract
Responsibilities: -Design and implement end-to-end data solutions (storage, ingestion, integration, processing, serving, visualization) in AzureDesign and implement database solutions in Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure SQL, NoSQL DBsMigrate data from traditional database systems (such as Teradata) to Azure databasesStrong experience on data engineering and data management practices on big data platforms like Spark, Kafka, Databricks, Synapse etcArchitect and implement ETL and data movement solutions using Azure Data Factory, SSISDesign and implement streaming solutions using Kafka or Azure Stream AnalyticsDesign and develop data visualizations in Power BIPrepare documentation and architectural designsPropose architectures that consider cost/spend in Azure and develop recommendations to right-size Azure data infrastructureDesign & implement data security and governance policies and standardsExperience with Data fabric and data virtualization architecturesStrong articulation and presentation skills in including illustrations and technical solution diagramsGood knowledge in MS Fabric Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Total 12 + years of IT experience in ETL /Big Data Technologies3-5 years’ experience with Azure storage solutions such as Azure Storage, Azure Storage Disks, and Azure Files1-3 years’ experience with tools such as Data bricks (Lakehouse), Snowflake, etc.Strong Understanding of/experience with streaming solutions such as Kafka and Azure Stream AnalyticsSolid understanding of/experience with Microsoft SQL Server and related technologiesStrong understanding of Azure solutions outside of the Azure storage and data platformsGood understanding of Azure non-relational data solutions such as Azure Cosmos DGood understanding of data security and governance standardBasic understanding of AI/ML approaches leveraging data on Azure
