Lead Accountant - Investment Accounting and Reporting

Job Description Summary Primarily responsible for the finance and controllership activities involved with all aspects of investment accounting and reporting. Additional responsibilities include supporting other controllership activities inclusive of GAAP and statutory financial reporting. Roles And Responsibilities

Serve as subject matter expert for all aspects of investment accounting and reporting.Ensure proper controls are in place and operating effectively and execute internal controls. Identify internal control weaknesses and process improvements. Prepare GAAP and statutory financials.Prepare financial disclosures and supporting documentation.Communicate investment portfolio information to GE Aerospace, NALH senior management, NALH legal entity Board of Directors, regulators, and rating agencies.Fulfill external and internal audit requests.Analysis of key investment trends and drivers.Perform variable analysis and document findings.Communicate with third party investment managers, pricing vendors, custodians, and accounting providers.Prepare losses and impairment reports.Prepare account reconciliations and roll-forwards.Record manual journal entries

Required Qualifications

Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Accounting.Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in public accounting.Experience managing projects.Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.Proficient use of financial systems and MS office – e.g., Excel, PowerPoint & Word.Strong problem identification and resolution skills
