HOW A Systems Administrator WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Basic knowledge of containerization and container orchestrationExperience developing methods for deploying development environments that mirror production environments for risk mitigation in test and evaluation of software and hardware solutionsDevelop and provide documentation and training to improve utilization of various Linux based technical solutionsExperience troubleshooting complex system hardware and software issuesSolid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, ICMP, ssh and SNMPSolid knowledge of Networking, VLANs, Firewalls, Load Balancers, and addressing schemesSkilled in system administration tasks such as file system, network, and account troubleshootingKnowledge of repository management practices, patch administration, and vulnerability remediationExperience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps environmentsExperience with STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides)Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexityAbility to interact effectively with project teams, managers, and end usersCreative and innovative thinking with the ability to multi-taskCommitment to ongoing professional development
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar relevant degreeRequired Experience: 3+ years of related experience as a Linux or Kubernetes AdministratorRequired Technical Skills: DoD 8140 compliance requiredSecurity Clearance Level: Active Top Secret with a T5 or T5R completed within the last 5 yearsRequired Skills and Abilities: Highly motivated, self-starter with great communications skills; effective problem solver; able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environmentPreferred Skills: Experience deploying and maintaining applications in a Kubernetes environment. Basic knowledge of Elasticsearch or any distributed full-text search engine. Basic PostgreSQL database administration . Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing Ansible for configuration management and application deployment. Monitoring and alerting packages (e.g., Nagios, Grafana, and Prometheus. Experience with at least one scripting languages such as Bash Location: Washington, District of Columbia; limited telework may be available
