We are seeking a Design Specialist who shows high levels of proficiency in both Website Design and Graphic Design. This position requires working directly with clients, to design, illustrate, or update communications across digital and print mediums, including website and graphic design components. A design specialist has experience with the principles of design, color, and layouting, web design, and demonstrates a portfolio consistent with that knowledge. They must know how to interact with brand guides and make design decisions based on parameters given to them with a project scope. The design specialist has the ability to deliver creative design projects that meet the client’s branding and specifications and demonstrate original artistic talent. Knowledge of photography & video operation and the ability to translate design work into video is also a plus.

Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role as a Design Specialist at Genovations Media. As a Design Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and designing various websites, brand packages, graphic assets, and conducting research for design inspiration to push a project to completion with our clientele from start to finish. Your role will involve collaborating with our team of media specialists to deliver high-quality design work to our clients.

Core ResponsibilitiesPlan design concepts with clients and colleagues by studying relevant information and materials.Illustrate concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size, and style for approval.Prepare finished designs, including logos, websites, merch designs, brand collateral, print collateral, and brand books.Utilize and demonstrate a strong proficiency in software such as Adobe Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop in particular), Canva, Squarespace, and Wix Studio for design work.Lead and complete design projects from start to finish, including correspondence, mockups, approvals, invoicing, and final file delivery.Coordinate with internal design teams, including graphic designers, web designers, marketing, printers, and colleagues.Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing design tasks as needed.Translate client needs and creative direction into professional designs.Review final layouts and suggest improvements when necessary.Work alongside videographers and photographers to execute design elements for various media.

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in graphic/web design, or related field, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience as a graphic designer, web designer, art director, or related roleDemonstrated strong graphic and web design skills through a creative portfolioProficiency with desktop publishing tools like Photoshop, InDesign, and IllustratorStrong eye for visual compositionProficient with web hosts such as Squarespace and Wix, with some understanding of codeExcellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlinesSelf-motivated team player capable of giving and receiving constructive criticismUnderstanding of graphic, web, and publication design principlesKnowledge of marketing principles and their relationship to successful graphic design
