π Role Overview & Responsibilities
Our client is a Family Office in the South Bay LA area that is looking for a Corporate Accounting Manager. This position is going to support the Controller with the day-to-day accounting and the firmβs financial reporting. We are looking for a hands-on, roll up your sleeves, A-player who can maneuver the day-to-day challenges that come with a family office. The ideal candidate will come from the private equity, investment fund, or real estate industry with a strong grasp on accounting, tax, financial products, real estate and much more. The biggest selling point about this position is going to be the leadership and hands on training that the Controller is willing to invest in this individual. Additionally, this will be an in-office role 4 days a week.
Responsibilities:Full cycle corporate accounting: month-end, bank reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, etc. Responsible for all fund accounting including oversight of the preparation of the quarterly financial statements, capital account statements, capital calls, distribution notices and investor relations.Serve as the main point of contact for third party tax providers, legal counsel and auditors to provide accurate and timely information for cost-effective filings and annual reviews.Oversee preparation and review of financial statements for all business and real estate entities on a monthly basis to ensure proper recording of income, expenses, and capitalized items for management reporting and tax preparation.Manage all day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, brokerage reconciliations, etc. Look for ways to use cash effectively to reduce overall borrowing costs.Review, organize and have a strong understanding of all legal documents and agreements.Manage fund investments, coordinate capital calls and track distributions, review new fund subscription agreements and related compliance, and provide quarterly analysis of investment performance including IRR, DPI, MOIC.Ad hoc tasks as needed
Qualifications:4+ years accounting experience at an investment management firm, private equity firm, or hedge fund.Bachelorβs or higher degree in Accounting or related degreeBig 4 or public accounting experience preferred.Strong understanding of corporate accounting.CPA preferred Fund accounting and GAAP financial reporting not required but a plusAdvanced Excel skills and ability to create reports and models as needed
