As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition and financial reporting in accordance with ASC606 guidelines. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze contracts, assess revenue impacts, and provide insights to support decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of accounting experience, with a strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and a proven track record of excellence in financial analysis.
The role is 100% REMOTE
Responsibilities:Oversee the end-to-end revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with ASC606 standards and company policies.Review customer contracts to assess revenue implications, identify performance obligations, and determine appropriate recognition timing.Collaborate with sales, legal, and operations teams to ensure alignment on revenue recognition treatment for new and existing contracts.Perform detailed revenue analyses, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting, to support financial reporting and decision-making.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue-related journal entries and reconciliations.Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in revenue accounting processes.Provide technical accounting guidance on revenue recognition matters and support external audit requirements.Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards and policies, including the adoption of ASC606 and future updates.Develop and maintain advanced Excel models to support revenue-related analysis and reporting.Utilize tools such as Power BI to create insightful dashboards and reports for monitoring key revenue metrics and trends.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on revenue recognition in a technology or software company.Thorough understanding of ASC606 and other relevant accounting standards.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex contracts and financial data.Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and complex formulas.Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.Self-motivated and proactive mindset, with a continuous improvement orientation.
