Summary

Overall responsible for achieving acceptable productivity levels at the Shreveport Vehicle Processing Center. Provide safe, effective management and direction to the Yard department in regards to vehicle receiving, movements, staging, inventory control, damage control and tendering/releasing to meet daily production and shipment requirements.

Responsibilities

Represents Hyundai Glovis with customers, relative to all yard mattersEnsures that Shreveport Yard Operations meets or exceeds customer acceptable quality levels and standardsMotivates and directs Yard related personnelManage, plans and direct vehicle movements in a manner that results in minimal wait time for drivers consolidating movements whenever possibleWorks with other departments to facilitate the efficient movements of units on the yard and the processing of units through the VPC and PIO production areaCoordinate with other department managers to develop training documents and strategies for vehicle movementFollows Production Plan without deviationCompile and present daily reports in staff meetingsBased on projected workload, schedules appropriate number of personnel to insure timely completion, quality, and the most efficient utilization of staffing.Diagnose, investigate and solve yard inefficienciesTroubleshoots as needed to facilitate the processing of damaged units or other units requiring special attention.Develops, implements, and standardizes yard related policies and proceduresDiagnose, investigate and solve yard inefficiencesEnsure inbound rail units are in damage free conditionConduct vehicle handling auditsProvides guidance, technical support and feedback to team members on an ongoing basis regarding changing work procedures, safety precautions, etc.Prepare disciplinary notices and conduct counseling sessions with personnel regarding performance deficiencies and/or failure to abide by established procedures and safe work practices.Provides feedback to personnel regarding performanceConducts audits on parking proceduresOther tasks and duties as assigned by the leadership team

Education & Experience

HS Diploma / GEDBachelors Degree Preferred3 - 5years OR equivalent combination of education and experience in AutomotiveLogistics, Manufacturing experienceClear MVR and Valid State Driver's License
