Responsibilities
About the Role
The AVP Enterprise Software Development is responsible for developing and managing large scale, highly complex and proprietary software systems. This includes, but is not limited to, analysis, design, planning and execution of projects. The AVP Enterprise Software Development is a key contributor in determining technological direction, providing key software development guidance to his/her subordinates and managing development efforts to help ensure on-time delivery of assignments that meet the Company's quality and compliance standards.
In This Role, You Will
Plan and direct the work of development managers to ensure the timely and accurate completion of all assigned projects, ensuring that all applicable projects utilize the appropriate sanctioned project development and project management toolsDevelop and maintain a rolling 3 month plan of resource utilization and assignment in conjunction with the customer's 3 month project delivery planConsult with customers to identify, evaluate and formulate strategies to deal with project development opportunities, as well as consistent communication regarding project statusEnsure the timely completion of maintenance and support activities to minimize system downtime to the customerWork with IT and Business Management in developing business strategyEnsure the creation of a Professional Development Plan for each team member and the completion of formal and informal performance evaluationsEnsure completion of all annual training and development objectives for each memberReview the skill sets of all team members, position assignments and project requirements to ensure that critical skill sets do not rest with a single team memberComplete both repetitive and ad hoc reports as needed by managementEnsure strong team morale and employee commitmentPerform other duties as assignedConform with all company policies and procedures

Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration in related field or equivalent work experience preferred7-10 years progressively responsible software development and management experience preferredGreater than 10 years relevant IT experience preferredFast-paced office environmentLimited travel may be required to support business needsMust be able to deal with stressful office conditions while troubleshooting problems
