As a Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our cutting-edge API Platform Engineering team. This role goes beyond traditional Product Owner responsibilities, embracing the challenges of API software development and architecture in a dynamic, technology-driven landscape.

About the role

As a member of the team, you will lead the strategic direction and development of C# microservices in Azure, ensuring that our middleware tier seamlessly integrates with front-end applications, back-end core systems, and third-party integrations. As a visionary, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of OnStar Insurance's middleware solutions, aligning your work with overarching business goals.

Your responsibilities will extend to fostering a robust DevSecOps culture and prioritizing security and operational excellence in our software development process. As a collaborative liaison, you will coordinate closely between Product Management and Product Delivery teams, maintaining the platform/team backlog and leading backlog prioritization of initiatives. Your efforts will be key in aligning experiences across various channels and touchpoints, guaranteeing the best business outcomes.

Develop and communicate a clear vision for the API platform, aligning with organizational strategies. Identify future opportunities in API technology and middleware solutions.Analyze and communicate customer requirements to provide innovative solutions. Focus on createing novel solutions with measurable value for both existing and potential customers.Direct and coordinate the development of C# microservices in Azure, focusing on supporting front-end applications and core systems integrations. Ensure the best business results by aligning experiences across channels and touchpoints.Foster a strong DevSecOps culture, emplasizing security and operational excellence. Act as a member of an Agile Scrum team, maximizing the output of the development team through effective backlog prioritization and evaluation of work.Serve as a collaborative liasion between Product Management and Product Delivery teams. Communicate effectively with all levels of leadership, internal business partners, and external vendors regarding project status and performance.Leverage innovation tools, creative processes, and diverse cross-functional experts to generate ideas. Continuously improve processes, products, and services. Explore alternative problem-solving methods to achieve results beyond standard expectations.Proactively manage risks and dependencies in the product development lifecycle. Ensure compliance with security standards and company policies. Establish and monitor KPIs for the API platform. Measure product performance using key information processes and systems to ensure accountability for achieving business results.Work closely with UX/UI designers, system architects, and business analysts to ensure a cohesive product development approach. Craft high-quality, customer-centric user stories that exceed customer expectations. Manage the scope of each product launch for on-time delivery of key features. Adapt to changing technologies and business environments. Take immediate action when confronted with a problem or made aware of a situation.

Experience And Education

2-4 years experience as a Product Owner/Manager on an Agile Scrum teamHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor’s Degree or additional equivalent work or military experience preferred

Licenses

Agile Certification (PSPO or CSP-PO or POPM/APM) required

Salary

The base salary range for this role is: USD $77,900.00 to $144,100.00. At GM Financial, we strive for transparency in all aspects of our business, including pay equity. This is the GM Financial pay range for this role and job level. The exact salary and compensation will vary based on factors like knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This role is eligible to participate in a performance-based incentive plan. Full time employees are eligible to participate in health benefits on day one of employment.
