Job Summary:· This is a Chemical Engineer position at Godfrey and Wing. The responsibilities include:o Through collaborations with chemists, equipment engineers, and process technicians/operators, develop new impregnation technologies and sealant products.o Conduct hands-on research and development, study chemical/material process for vacuum/pressure impregnation, develop understandings of the relationships between chemical structure/process, process/equipment, and process/material performance with limited guidance.o Support production on the floor and customer service in the field.o Continually build chemical knowledge with an emphasis on organic/polymer materials.Essential Functions:· Execute material process trials in lab and convert lab understandings/concepts into production processes in pilot/production.o Record experimental details, analyze the data, summarize the results, and make recommendations based on qualitative/quantitative outcomes.o Document the results and communicate precisely and concisely to the team: composing technical reports, processing standard procedures, and products specifications.· Follow the procedures for chemical/material testing and conduct instrumental analysis of products: determining chemical compositions and material properties.· Create intellectual property: filing trade secrets and patent applications.Education:· A degree in Chemistry, ChemE/MaterialE or related fields with a solid foundation in Chemistry and demonstrated mechanical aptitudes.

Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in organic/polymeric chemical and material handling in laboratory and pilot plant, including product formulation, process evaluation, analytical measurement, and property testing

Quality and Skills

• Curiosity to science and technology, comfortability in team-work environment, willingness for mutual assistance· Good verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on independent follow-up. Proficient in MS office products, versed in reporting in tabular and graphical forms.· Equipment and instruments operation and basic maintenance.
