Mechanical Engineer - Nuclear Power Plants
Job Description:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team in designing and developing mechanical systems and components for nuclear power plants. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting feasibility studies, creating technical specifications, performing calculations and simulations, and ensuring regulatory compliance for mechanical systems in nuclear power plants. You will work closely with other engineers to integrate mechanical systems with other plant components and provide technical support for troubleshooting and maintenance during plant operation.
Responsibilities:Design and development of facilities for commercial nuclear power plants.Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate different mechanical designs and systems.Create technical specifications for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.Perform calculations and simulations using CAD software to validate design and performance.Collaborate with other engineers to integrate mechanical systems with other plant components.Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential mechanical system risks.Ensure regulatory compliance with nuclear regulatory authorities.Provide technical support for troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical systems during plant operation.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering specifically working within the nuclear power industry.Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and components used in nuclear power plants.Proficiency in CAD software for design and simulation purposes.Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for nuclear power plant design and operation.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.Knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation strategies for mechanical systems is preferred.
