General Job Description

The Corporate Communications Editor will collaborate closely with Golden 1’s C-suite executives to refine and enhance their communication materials. The ideal candidate will possess a robust editorial background, exceptional writing and editing skills, and the ability to collaborate closely with executives to develop clear, impactful narratives. This role will be instrumental in ensuring that our communications reflect our organization's values and strategic priorities. Additionally, the successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, adept at handling rapid turnarounds and navigating across multiple executives and administrators. Furthermore, they should demonstrate the ability to remain grounded in our corporate strategy, bringing it to life through their work.

Task, Duties And Functions

Conduct research on industry trends, market insights, and competitor activities to inform communication strategies and messaging tailored for the Credit Union. Provide strategic guidance to executives on communication best practices, messaging tactics, and audience engagement techniques specific to the credit union industry. Coordinate and manage communication campaigns and initiatives for the Credit Union, ensuring seamless execution and delivery of key messages. Serve as a support to Senior Leadership to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with overall communication objectives. Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication efforts for the Credit Union, using metrics such as audience engagement, reach, and sentiment to adjust strategies accordingly. Develop crisis communication plans and protocols including drafting statements and responses in collaboration with the executive team. Function as a brand ambassador for the Credit Union, ensuring that all external communication reflects the organization's brand identity and values. Provide leaders guidance on writing, editing, and strategic thinking. Cultivate relationships with media contacts, industry influencers, and key stakeholders to enhance the Credit Union's visibility and reputation. Foster a positive work environment through skill development, coaching, and inspiration, aligned with our mission, vision, and values. Perform other duties as assigned by relevant executive leadership and management.

PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS:

Visual Inspection, involving closely examining written content for errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully use computers, phones, editing software, formatting documents. The ability to organize tasks, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize workload.

Position Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, English, or related field.

EXPERIENCE: 8-10+ years of experience in corporate communications, editing, or related field, preferably within the financial industry.

Knowledge And Skills

Strong editorial background with exceptional writing and editing skills. Ability to collaborate closely with executives to develop clear and impactful narratives that resonate with our members and stakeholders. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage rapid turnarounds. Familiarity with credit union operations and the ability to align communication materials with our organizational goals. Experience working with senior leadership or within a corporate environment, understanding the nuances of executive communication. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of developing and executing successful communication plans. Digital agility and the ability to adapt to new technologies and platforms quickly. Ability to translate complex ideas and strategies into clear and concise messaging. Strong interpersonal skills, collaborate effectively with senior leadership. Committed to high-quality work and service excellence for all stakeholders. Meticulous with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer Corrected vision within the normal range. Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed. Occasional overnight travel as required.
