Job Description

PurposeThe Tavern/ Crossing Nines Event Captain reports to the Tavern and Crossing Nines Event Sales & Operations Manager and is responsible for assisting the Tavern and Crossing Nines with event execution by serving as an Event Captain.

Responsibilities & AccountabilityRead and review Banquet Event Order (BEO) with service team prior to the start of the event. Assign set-up tasks to staff.Neaten and organize event equipment and linens.Maintain quality of event equipment. Report worn or broken equipment to superiors.Manage execution of event service, including timeline adherence, throughout entirety ofevent.Manage clean up and equipment storage after each event and set up the next event forsuccess.Perform other duties and tasks, as needed.AdministrativeEnsures all records are entered accurately into appropriate software.Complete and submit a written recap of each event.Complete an average of (4) Office Hours a week to accomplish tasks not limited to: Printing, Organizing, Equipment Cleaning.

Position RequirementsThree to Five (3-5) years of experience in a high-volume restaurant or event service setting as a server or bartender.Ability to work independently and in a team setting.Flexibility: able to work varying shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, as needed.Ability to build strong relationships with clients to understand their needs.Commitment to customer satisfaction with a guest-focused attitude.Organization and attention to detail.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Professional appearance.Experience in the use of computers for word processing, data entry, email, and other basicadministrative functions, with the ability to learn to use any software which may be used at the facility.
