The OpportunityThe CFO is responsible for the finance and accounting departments of the portfolio of businesses. Though this position is responsible for accounting, finance, and tax of each business, it will also involve a focus on M&A and other strategic capital markets activities.

The CFO will partner with ownership and other leaders on setting and operationalizing business strategy. This is an opportunity for an experienced finance and M&A practitioner to develop expertise in the retirement and wealth management industries.

This is a highly entrepreneurial environment, so the right candidate will have the necessary energy and ambition to match. This opportunity is immense for someone with good business judgment who has experience communicating with sophisticated investors.

The Portfolio of CompaniesThe owner has a portfolio of businesses primarily based in the retirement and wealth management industries. There are three portfolio companies worth highlighting at varying stages in their lifecycle that this role will focus attention on: a wealth management technology platform that is in the process of scaling, an RIA actively embarking in opportunistic AUM acquisitions, and an annuity and life insurance distribution organization that is in the process of considering strategic opportunities over the coming months. The common denominator is a track record of significant year-over-year revenue growth and high EBITDA margins.

Responsibilities Build efficient finance and accounting organizations by attracting and retaining a high-quality team and utilizing software over manual processes.Lead integration or consolidation of accounting functions for acquired entities.Lead annual external audit and coordinates with external tax accountants.Work closely with businesses executives to review financial trends and KPIs.Participate in all aspects of M&A activity.Direct the company's strategic planning initiatives and help to build out strong practices around FP&A. Partner with all members of the senior management team and other company leadership on business strategy.Direct resource allocation, monitor company expenditures and help review and negotiate customer and vendor agreements.

Qualifications, skills, and experienceHigh-energy individuals ONLY.Must have the ambition, drive, and work ethic to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.Insurance or wealth management industry experience is preferred, not required.10+ years of finance/accounting experience.CFO, controller, or senior leadership experience in finance/accounting required.Fundraising, M&A, or other capital markets experience required.Candidate must be based Scottsdale, AZ (relocation assistance available).The company is unable to sponsor a Visa.
