GTN Staffing and Consulting is seeking a Manager/Director of Marketing and Business Development for a Law Firm in Houston, TX. This position is 100% onsite.
OVERVIEW: The Manager/Director of Marketing and Business Development serves as a strategic partner, supporting the Firm's Partners and other attorneys by developing and executing strategic marketing and business development initiatives. Engaging with Partners throughout the Firm’s three offices (Houston, Austin, and Dallas), the Manager/Director of Marketing and Business Development will harness the unique business development goals of the Partnership and the Firm as a whole, and translate that into actionable solutions for the success of the Firm. The Manager/Director of Marketing and Business Development will leverage their talent to deepen and broaden the Firm's client relationships, contributing to the Firm's culture of excellence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Engage with Partners to understand their individual and collective business development goals; and design individually-tailored strategies for each Partner to deepen existing client relationships and introduce potential new client relationships. • Working from those individually-tailored strategies, support the implementation of each Partner’s business development activities by suggesting, scheduling, planning and tracking meals, trips, speaking opportunities, and other business development activities. • Implement and manage a master calendar of the Firm’s client-related / business development events, sponsored tables, conferences and other networking opportunities; ensuring the appropriate Partners and other personnel are invited and attend, and tracking external attendee responses and attendance. • Coordinate holistic marketing and business development strategy and initiatives; including but not limited to the creation of marketing collateral and pitch material, development and retention of Firm-authored speeches and presentations, maximizing the impact of the Firm’s website, enhancing and updating attorney biographies, and life cycle management of “swag” giveaways, events, conferences, and other programming. • Enhance the Firm’s client contact database into a valuable business development tool, planning and tracking client touchpoints and data, and capturing relevant client information. • Collect, analyze and share data regarding the results of business development efforts, in terms of additional business, etc. • Proactively initiate business development outings for Partners with client or potential clients to ensure appropriate number of “touches” for each • Working with other department leaders as appropriate, analyze current client portfolio according to specific metrics provided by Firm. • Working with Partners, tailor Firm biography and other collateral as appropriate • Conduct industry, market and client research to develop data-driven recommendations, including tracking results of Firm’s business development activity. • Support key client attendance at Firm’s political and other events. Network with peer groups to provide insight into the latest developments in the legal industry's marketing and business development community. • Manage the Marketing budget to ensure proper resources are available for and dedicated to marketing and business development initiatives while meeting the Firm's financial goals. • Schedule weekly LinkedIn focus highlights and encourage “likes” and follows of same • Employ creativity and originality in developing social media and website content to communicate Firm, employee, or client achievements. • Manage the Firm’s LinkedIn account and website. • Understand the Firm’s unique practice area; and find innovative and creative ways to tell the Firm's story and its expertise in its practice areas. • Collaborate with Firm stakeholders to analyze marketing strategies using market insights, data, trends, and competitive intelligence. • Recommend and manage software or applications to track business development efforts and results. • Stay abreast of industry news to educate Partners and others of marketing opportunities. • Develop and maintain inventory of branded merchandise and coordinate its dissemination internally and externally.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Bachelor's degree required; marketing degree preferred. • Minimum of five years' experience in the field of marketing or business development required. • Law firm marketing experience or land development industry experience preferred. • Travel between 3 offices and elsewhere in Texas as appropriate • Solid communicator • Creative • Excellent writing and proofreading skills • Strong organizational skills • High competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) • High competency with creating, posting and managing LinkedIn account and content • Proactive, self-motivated, team supporter, and team leader • Ability to take initiative • High energy and flexibility levels • Ability to provide consistently superior levels of customer service • Excitement for career growth and challenges • Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary
