📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Job Summary:This position represents the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs for Gulfport Energy Corporation, providing technical assistance to Corporate EHS and field personnel and is responsible for facilitating air permitting and environmental compliance programs.
Primary Responsibilities:· Prepare and submit appropriate air permits· Preparation and submission of required annual emissions reports· Track permitting actions and ensure agency deadlines are met· Communicate with local, state, and federal agencies regarding air and environmental inquiries· Facilitate air permitting and compliance duties between field EHS reps, consultants, and Operations· Evaluate regulatory requirements· Facilitate various Environmental programs, including but not limited to LDAR, Greenhouse Gas Management, SPCC, Waste, Water, etc.· Facilitate requirements associated with gas certification programs· NSPS OOOOa compliance duties· Facilitate engine testing and compliance· Operational field data management· Periodic field EHS audits, inspections, engine testing, LDAR inspections, etc.· Conduct environmental training at monthly Operations EH&S (Safety) Meetings· Verify all site’s air emission control equipment and operating parameters are being maintained as required by regulation or permit· Maintain a current list of sites with glycol dehydration units, combustion engines and control devices· Coordinate sampling requirements, including H2S sampling, oil and gas samples for extended analysis, etc.· Conduct agency field inspections, audits & due diligence reviews· Disclose all non-compliance issues to Corporate Environmental & Air Manager· Attend and participate in EHS Safety meetings and complete web-based or other training as assigned by corporate EHS· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:· Effective communicator at all levels of an organization and with individuals and groups from different disciplines, industries and governmental agencies· Ability to proficiently schedule, coordinate, plan and monitor multiple projects simultaneously· Problem solving and analytical skills· Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy· Ability to analyze situations and data objectively· Initiative to work independently, but also effective in a team setting· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manual· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, government agencies and the general public· Excellent communication and customer service skills (written and verbal)· Competency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook· Ability to complete projects assigned with necessary follow up within deadlines
Education/Experience:· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene or EHS/CSP certification with 5 – 8 years of Environmental experience· Minimum 5 years’ experience in Oil & Gas industry setting with a strong safety and environmental background is preferred· Experience with environmental and air regulations pertaining to upstream oil and gas production· Experience conducting environmental and safety audits and inspections· Experience in analyzing data and summarizing for broad distribution or for use in determining how to focus resources· Experience implementing safety and environmental programs to achieve established goals· Experience working with regulatory agency personnel· Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook· Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Work Environment:This job operates in both a professional office environment and a field environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, iPads, iPhones, laptop computers, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This job also operates in a field environment with various equipment, dust, debris, and varying weather conditions.
Physical Demands:Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Ability to drive for long periods of time, walk and/or stand for long periods of time, perform work in all types of weather conditions.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time salaried position. Days and hours of work will vary due to workload/needs of the company. This position requires an individual who can answer emergency calls at any time. This employee must be available to come to work during off-hours and/or weekends to address emergency conditions or other situations that may arise.
Safety Sensitive:This position is designated as safety sensitive.
Travel:Frequent local and out of town travel is expected for this position.
