Environmental Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to support our Ports, Harbors and Coastal Infrastructure projects and clients on the west coast, and Contaminated Sediments Practice projects and clients nationally. The preferred candidate is located in the vicinity of our Bay Area ( Walnut Creek, Oakland and San Jose) and/or Southern California (San Diego and Costa Mesa) offices . This is a full-time , hybrid position out of our San Diego, CA or Walnut Creek, CA Office.

Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will

Serve as a key member of the Ports, Harbors and Coastal Infrastructure group with the ability to step in and immediately manage projects in Southern California, the San Francisco Bay Area; and support projects in the Pacific Northwest. Provide subject matter expertise in characterizing and evaluating sediment quality parameters and advise on suitable, effective, and reasonable dredged material management options and remediation strategies. Participate in the development and implementation of sediment and water quality monitoring plans. Work collaboratively with a passionate team supporting a wide variety of clients with numerous challenging sediment projects. Understand client needs and be able to develop strong client relationships. Be capable of managing technical and financial aspects of projects. Execute projects to meet safety, technical quality, budgetary and scheduling requirements. Demonstrate strong verbal communications and written skills, including client report deliverables. Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to more junior level staff. Possess skills in project scoping, planning, budgeting, and scheduling. Develop a working understanding of H&A’s other consulting practice areas and actively support cross-selling services to existing clients.

Skills/Experience

Minimum of Bachelor of Science in environmental science, biology, chemistry or other natural sciences preferably related to the marine environment. Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience with environmental regulations, sediment characterization, dredged material management, water resources, remedial investigation/planning, and environmental monitoring. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to review and interpret analytical data related to regulatory criteria.

The salary range for this position in Walnut Creek, CA and San Diego, CA is $120,000 - $150,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to ensure we are competitive in the current market.
