PreK Assistant Teacher

ResponsibilitiesSupport Montessori practices and lesson plans centered around students’ developing social, intellectual, and emotional skillsPromote student independence, intellectual curiosity and intrinsic motivationEstablish and uphold classroom routines to ensure a focused, safe and caring environmentGet to know each child extremely well to identify individual student interests and needsCollaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure student mastery of standards

QualificationsAssistant Teacher Certification required (must be certified within 3 months of employment)At least two years of teaching experience in Pre-K is preferredExperience teaching in a Montessori school, preferably in an urban settingPassion for building a strong relationship with each individual childDemonstrated ability to create a positive, organized, student centered classroom cultureA strong sense of personal accountability for student achievementUnshakeable conviction that all students can learn at a high level

Compensation & BenefitsThe salary range for this position is $45,000 to $57,000, and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
