📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Hayward Holdings Inc. (NYSE "HAYW") is the largest manufacturer of residential swimming pool equipment in the world, with a significant presence in the commercial pool market that is continuously growing. Hayward designs, manufactures, and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment including pumps, filters, heating, cleaners, salt chlorinators, automation, lighting, safety, flow control and energy solutions at our company owned facilities. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China. This position is based in Kingstown, RI.
The North Kingstown RI facility specifically manufactures lights, chlorinators, controls, and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) which get shipped intercompany, to distribution, or direct to customers.
YOUR Goals And Experiences
Analyze the footprint of raw material storage in house and at external warehouses, including exit plan from 3PL. Investigate potential cost savings associated with expansion of existing on-site warehouse. Analyze logistics of using in house trucking versus external (3PL) delivery. Collaborate with other Materials Interns to ensure project overlap requirements are met.
Responsibilities
Reduce Inventory at 3PLs. (Inventory dollar value and cost of pallet space) Build an optimized method of ordering material from 3PLs. (Cost of each truck delivery) Identify space utilization improvements for onsite warehouse. (Avg. cost of a pallet space at HRI) Identify obsolete/non-performing inventory. (Inventory dollar/pallet location savings) Present out to executive leadership current state and mapped future state for raw material optimization efforts
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in the field of Supply Chain Management Good academic standing Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills Excellent computer skills; Excel, Word, PowerPoint ERP/MRP background Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
