Primary Responsibilities

HDR is in search of a dynamic, diverse, and talented traffic engineer to join our growing Pennsylvania offices. The primary duties include being an integral part of the Traffic and Planning team as a technical resource on a variety of traffic design projects. Design assignments may include preparing signing, pavement marking, signal, lighting, temporary traffic control, and intelligent transportation system (ITS) plans for either stand-alone or multi-disciplinary projects.

As a technical resource, you will perform detail checks and work closely with junior staff and technicians on plan development. In this role, you may also support Project Managers with the development of fee proposals, providing direction to internal project team, on-time submission delivery to clients, and financial monitoring of projects. Additional assignments may include supporting our regional offices in West Virginia and Ohio on similar traffic design projects.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Master’s degree preferred 8 years’ experience related to traffic design PE required Working knowledge of PennDOT and PTC standards, specifications, and plan preparation. Computer skills using Microsoft office, ProjectWise, SignCAD, and ORD Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to prioritize and multi-task while working on several projects at once An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
