Title: Nurse Location: H ome base is Bronzeville and most time would be spent there, traveling to other sites as needed. Shift: Monday to Friday (8:00am to 4:30pm)

Duties & Responsibilities

Administers medications and immunizations following medical direction.Conduct point-of-care tests, including pregnancy tests.Educates participants on immunizations, medications, and general health.Provides support and acts as a resource for non-medical staff inquiries.Monitors and documents post-treatment participant conditions, taking necessary actions.Records patient history, and vital signs, and maintains accurate medical records.Collects, logs, and assists in transporting laboratory specimens.Assists physicians and nurses with procedures according to established protocols.Implements and maintains infectious disease protocols in a residential setting.Maintains inventory, ensures compliance with the Vaccines for Children Program (VFC), and upholds high-quality patient care standards.

Education

Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nursing program (LPN) OR graduate of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.

Experience

One (1) year of experience in nursing, casework, human services, or related field is required. Experience with children and adolescents is preferred.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: LPN or RN and license is in good standing.Language Requirement: Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (K/S/A)

Strong preference for multilingual skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively in different languages.Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare reports, and correspondence, and effectively address diverse audiences.Strong networking abilities, with experience building and sustaining relationships with diverse work teams, stakeholders, and community-based organizations.Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally and diplomatically.High level of collaboration and emotional intelligence, fostering effective communication and engagement with diverse populations.Ability to work independently, remain self-motivated, and adapt to various situations with minimal direct supervision.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange, Windows operating systems, and other software routinely used by the organization.Ability to solve practical problems and navigate situations where only limited standardization exists. Capable of interpreting various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

This position will administer a high volume of vaccinations using a hypodermic needle.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Arrangement

This is an in-person role, not eligible for remote work. Staff may work at different locations based on daily needs.Three primary shifts are scheduled each day including weekends and holidays. Employees may be required to work any one of these shifts.
