Dispatch Coordinator

Hercules Concrete is currently seeking a Dispatcher for our facility in Detroit, MI that is a highly motivated and driven individual on the quest for a challenge. In this role, the Dispatcher works hands-on coordinating day-to-day plant operations to ensure overall safety, quality, production and profitability.

The ideal candidate will have:3+ years’ experience in concrete dispatching.An understanding of QC/QA for the ready mix concrete industry.Knowledge of concrete production equipment, processes, and maintenance programs.Excellent organizational skills, and is able to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.The ability to use multiple forms of communication such as multi-line telephone system, mobile phones, two-way radios, emails, and other forms of communication methods.The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented.Strong analytical and problem solving skills.Union contract knowledge.Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Duties include, but are not limited to:Answer incoming calls and communications.Utilizing maps to execute directions accurately and selecting the most efficient route rapidly.Coordinates response and delivery of received information to drivers and field staffEfficiently schedules drivers to meet production demands.Balancing driver hours to assure productivity and customers’ needs are met while ensuring compliance with applicable DOT laws.Maintain radio contact and or phone contact with drivers.Assist with driver recruiting and retention.Must also be willing to work long hours and weekends during the peak season.As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for providing quality customer service.Performs other duties assigned or assists others in their duties as needed.
